Polycam 3D Scanner, Cinema4D, Adobe AfterEffect
The Nexus project is an interactive installation that examines RISD’s decentralized campus and the ways students form personal connections to scattered spaces. To reflect this dynamic, I designed a tunnel structure as both a physical and metaphorical passage—linking public campus areas while balancing individuality and collective identity.
Mainly 3D scanned key sites of RISD and composited them into a single imaginative “centralized” community space, which was projected onto the tunnel walls to create an immersive environment. Inside the tunnel, classmates’ personal belongings were brought to life through AR interactivity, deepening the dialogue between individuality and community. By weaving together these digital, physical, and interactive layers, the installation invited reflection on how personal identity and collective belonging continuously intersect.
